Construction management software: what to check before signing and how to integrate it with your construction ERP
The right construction management software connects the jobsite to the office. It covers purchasing from the invoice, inventory per project, the daily log, finance per project and change orders approved by the client. Before signing, test it with a real project and see whether the foreman can use it on a phone. And confirm the data leaves with you.
What does construction management software need to do in 2026?
It needs to record what happens on the jobsite and carry it into each project's cost. If the jobsite lives in the WhatsApp group and the cost lives in a spreadsheet, someone puts the two together by hand.
The cost of mistakes has gone up. According to FGV IBRE, construction labor rose 9.23% in 2025, against 3.75% for materials and equipment. Every day with a work front stopped and every piece of redone work got more expensive. See where construction costs leak.
Use this list in the demo. Ask to see each item working with your own data:
| Function | Why it matters | How to test it in the demo |
|---|---|---|
| Purchasing with approval | Last-minute purchases cost more | Create a request, approve it and see the stage's balance |
| NF-e intake | An invoice without a project is the gap in cost control | Import a real NF-e and record it against the project and stage |
| Jobsite inventory | Material disappears between delivery and use | Receive stock from the invoice and issue it by work front |
| Daily log | It is the proof in disputes over deadlines and change orders | Build one day's log with photos and sign it |
| Finance per project | Profit is per project, not per company | See a project's actual with the bank statement reconciled |
| Client change orders | Extra work without approval becomes a loss | Record a change, add up the amount and approve it by link |
| Jobsite on the phone | The foreman doesn't go back to the office to enter data | Ask your foreman to record a pending item with a photo |
| Multiple projects on one screen | The engineer handles more than one project | Filter pending items by project, work front and urgency |
Progress measurement and budgeting join the list if the company has no other system for them. With SINAPI and in-house cost breakdowns, budgeting is a separate product.
How much does construction management software cost?
Public entry prices range from R$ 269 to R$ 399.20 per month. The large ERP prices on request. These are the figures from the official pages, accessed October 26, 2026:
| System | Public price | How it charges |
|---|---|---|
| Mais Controle | From R$ 269 per month, on the annual plan, with 2 users | Plan plus modules: daily log R$ 60, measurement R$ 60, AI purchasing R$ 90, inventory R$ 99, extra user R$ 40 |
| Obra Prima | From R$ 399.20 per month | Plans by number of active projects |
| Sienge | On request | Modules and users; varies by size and active projects |
Sienge states it has more than 5,000 construction companies as clients, including 77 of the 100 largest in Brazil, on its own pricing page.
The monthly fee is only one part. Ask for a quote with each item broken out:
- Field users. Do the foreman and the crew leads pay as users? At R$ 40 per extra user, the whole jobsite adds up.
- Modules. Are daily log, inventory, purchasing and measurement in the plan or extras?
- Onboarding. Who enters projects, budgets and suppliers? Is there a cost and a timeline?
- API. Is API access included or a separately paid package?
- Contract. Is there a lock-in period, a cancellation fee or a price adjustment after the first year?
Will the foreman use the system?
Only if the system reaches him where he already is. On the jobsite, that is usually WhatsApp. One more app, with a password and menus, tends to get left for the end of the day.
Some tools already come in through WhatsApp:
- According to Vobi, its Finance, Purchasing and Daily Log agents receive invoice photos, audio and purchase requests via WhatsApp and turn them into records.
- Mais Controle uses WhatsApp to pre-enter expenses, request purchases and send quote requests to suppliers.
In the demo, send a photo and a message the way your foreman would. Then check three things: did the message go into the right project? Did it become a pending item with an owner? Does someone follow up if it doesn't close?
Full system or a system on top of the construction ERP?
It depends on whether the current ERP has an API, the door through which another system reads and writes data. With an API, you can keep the ERP and handle the jobsite on top. Without one, switching is usually the cleanest path.
The industry's large ERPs publish APIs:
- Sienge documents REST, Bulk-Data and webhook APIs. Its resources include Construction Log, Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, Materials Inventory, NF-e and Accounts Payable.
- UAU, from Senior, has an API with a technical user and staging and production environments, according to Senior's documentation.
- Mega, also from Senior, has REST and SOAP APIs, and the user needs permission in the API module.
Ask the ERP vendor whether the API is in your contract. Also ask what it allows you to write, not just read. Reading a purchase request is different from creating one.
How do you switch construction software without losing data?
Export everything before notifying the current vendor. Then start the next project in the new system, instead of migrating a project halfway through. The step-by-step:
- Export the projects with budget, stages and schedule.
- Export suppliers and materials with unit and last price.
- Export open payables and receivables, per project.
- Keep the invoice XML files and confirm the retention period with the accountant.
- Download the logs and photos for each project, with dates.
- Download the approved change orders with each client's acceptance.
- Start with the next project. Projects in progress finish in the old system, if the contract allows.
Logs and change orders are the most forgotten data. They are also the most useful in a dispute. See what to record in the construction daily log.
How CERNE solves it
For those with no system, CERNE becomes the project's system. Those who already use Sienge, UAU or Mega keep the budget and accounting in the ERP. CERNE integrates through the API and handles the jobsite on top.
- Purchasing from the invoice, with approval. The NF-e comes in with project, item and amount. A material shortage becomes a request with approval, or an order in Sienge.
- Jobsite inventory. Receipts from the invoice, issues by work front and each project's balance.
- The day's construction log. The log comes out ready from the day's pending items, photos and deliveries. The engineer reviews and signs.
- Finance per project. Each project's payables and receivables, with the bank statement reconciled.
- Change order by link. The client's request becomes a change order with an amount, and the client approves through the link, with name and time.
- Jobsite via WhatsApp. The foreman sends text or a photo, and the AI proposes the pending items. Each pending item has an owner and deadline, and CERNE follows up until it closes.
The construction package starts with an assessment of your project. It uses modules already running at CERNE clients: the board with owner and deadline, and approval before any order. See the workflows on the construction and engineering page and the integrations in the modules section.
Start with an assessment
The list in this article works for any vendor. The right choice depends on your projects and your ERP. Start with an assessment of your operation: our team maps the path from jobsite to finance and shows what changes with CERNE. Book the assessment.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the best software for a small construction company?
- The one that covers your projects without a long onboarding: purchasing from the invoice, jobsite inventory, daily log, finance per project and change orders. Test it with a real project and check whether the foreman can use it on a phone.
- How much does construction management software cost?
- Public entry prices range from R$ 269 per month for Mais Controle, on the annual plan with 2 users, to R$ 399.20 for Obra Prima, according to the pages accessed in October 2026. Sienge prices on request, by modules, users and active projects.
- What features does construction management software need?
- Purchasing with approval, NF-e intake, inventory per project, a daily log, finance per project with reconciliation, change order control and a view of multiple projects. Progress measurement and budgeting count if the company has no ERP for them.
- Does construction software integrate with WhatsApp?
- Some do. According to Vobi, its agents receive photos, audio and requests via WhatsApp. Mais Controle uses WhatsApp to pre-enter expenses and request quotes. Ask whether the message becomes a record in the right project.
- Do I need to replace my ERP to control the jobsite?
- Not always. If the ERP has an API, another system can handle the jobsite on top. Sienge documents REST, Bulk-Data and webhook APIs with daily log, purchasing and inventory. UAU and Mega also have APIs.
- How do you switch construction software without losing data?
- Export projects, budgets, suppliers, open payables and receivables, invoices and logs before canceling. Start the next project in the new system and finish the projects in progress in the old one, if the contract allows.
